During the making of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK ('59), Star of the Month Shelley Winters met Frank's father, Otto. She told him that if she won the Oscar for the film, she would donate it to the Anne Frank Museum in Amsterdam. She did and the statue is housed there today.
