ASAP backup on a tripod reeve... Yeah, not so much! Limited testing shows there are quite a few variables at play here. This kind of setup on a highline does seem to catch regularly (due to the pre-load on the track lines accelerating the reeve ropes upwards when de-tensioned?) However, take that pre-load out of the equation, on a tripod reeve, drop loop or highline reeve close to the AHD. Results may vary. Out of 5 tests carried out today, the dummy ended up on the floor twice. Stay safe kids.
